The CSAWUZ shall respect and promote:

  • Unity: the state of being one; oneness. a whole or totality as combining all its parts into one. the state or fact of being united or combined into one, as of the parts of a whole; unification.
  • Solidarity: unity (as of a group or class) that produces or is based on community of interests, objectives, and standards.
  • Cooperation: an act or instance of working or acting together for a common purpose or benefit; joint action. more or less active assistance from a person, organization,
  • Commitment to the cause of labour: Embracing the fact that trade union, also called labour union, association of workers in a particular trade, industry, or company created for the purpose of securing improvements in pay, benefits, working conditions, or social and political status through collective bargaining.
  • Equity and Social Justice: Social equity is concerned with justice and fairness of social policy.
  • Decent work: decent work ‘involves opportunities for work that is productive and delivers a fair income, security in the workplace and social protection for families, better prospects for personal development and social integration, freedom for people to express themselves.
  • Transparency and Accountability: Transparency implies openness, communication, and accountability which refers to the quality or state of being accountable; an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility for one’s actions
  • Internal democracy: implementation of a minimum set of norms within the organization. This minimum set of norms should provide a bottom-up approach to forming a decision in the party and the internal distribution of power at different levels, bodies, and individuals. The minimum set of norms are ‘internal rules and procedures that give ordinary members greater influence on issues such as candidate selection, leadership selection and policy platform’. The most engaging models of internal party democracy are inclusive, participatory, deliberate, responsible and include fair distribution of power. 
  • Resource thriftiness: the quality of being careful with money or resources, especially by avoiding waste:
  • Empowerment: the act or action of empowering someone or something: the granting of the power, right, or authority to perform various acts or duties.
